The first organization named JCI was founded in Bucharest, in late 2002, and in 2003 JCI Bucharest forms together with JCI Timisoara, JCI Constanta and JCI Brasov, the JCI Romania federation, which became affiliated to the JCI world organization.
In 2005, JCI Iasi was founded, JCI Cluj Napoca in 2006, JCI Lugoj in 2007, JCI Sibiu in 2008, and in 2009 were set up the founding formalities for JCI Oradea, JCI Târgu-Mureş, JCI Suceava, JCI Bacau, JCI Vaslui.
JCI Romania’s projects are being undertaken on one of the four major areas of action promoted by JCI internationally:
- Business – creating business opportunities by organizing networking events; participating in economic missions and business events;
- Personal growth – stimulating entrepreneurship and developing entrepreneurial skills and business ethics by engaging in the realization of JCI’s projects and participating in training sessions organized by Romanian and foreign trainers; improving communication skills and the leadership style;
- International relations – opening up to international space through participation in JCI international conferences and twinning;
- Responsibility towards the community – supporting local communities by organizing social projects.
